Notice of 2025 Material and Parts Research and Development Project Demand Survey(Submission Period Extended)

In accordance with Article 17 (Identification of Support Fields by Project) and Article 18 (Project Planning) of the Common Operational Guidelines for the Industrial Technology Innovation Project, the following notice is given regarding the technology demand survey to discover new support projects for the 2025 Material and Parts Research and Development Project.

1. Purpose
  • To investigate creative and diverse technological demands from the private sector, which will be used as foundational data for planning new research and development projects in the materials, parts, and equipment sectors, aimed at enhancing global competitiveness in manufacturing and stabilizing supply chains.
2. Survey Target
  • Target Fields of Support

    The survey covers the material, parts, and equipment sectors as specified in Article 2 (Scope of Materials, Parts, and Equipment) of the Enforcement Decree of the Act on Special Measures for the Enhancement of Competitiveness of Materials, Parts, and Equipment Industries.

    Support Scale per Project Approximately 2 to 5 billion KRW per year

    Technology Readiness Level (TRL) Consideration of starting at level 4 and ending at level 8
    Technology Fees Collected from profit-oriented institutions
    Key Focus Areas ◦ Support for core materials, parts, and equipment sectors where securing technology is urgently needed, considering the necessity of ensuring supply chain stability against global external shocks and the impact on key industries.
    ◦ Support for promising technologies in next-generation materials, parts, and equipment to lead future markets.
3. Survey Items
  • Name of the proposed technology (item), need for government support, development goals and content, domestic and international trends, applicable industries, and expected effects.
4. Eligibility for Proposing Demand Survey
  • Individuals or entities affiliated with companies, universities, research institutes, or associations who are interested in and willing to participate in the Material and Parts Research and Development Project.
5. Submission of Demand Survey
  • Submission Method: After selecting [R&D PROGRAMS → Technology Demand Survey → Apply → Download Materials and Parts R&D Project Survey Template → Submit] on the KEIT website (https://keit.re.kr/index.es?sid=a2), register online under the ‘2025 Material and Parts Research and Development Project Demand Survey’ in the demand survey announcement list.
    ※ Please download and complete the demand survey form from the website before entering the information online (attach and submit the completed survey form).
  • Submission Period: August 30, 2024 (Fri) ~ October 7, 2024 (Mon) by 18:00 (KST)
    ※ New submissions are not allowed after the deadline, so please be punctual.
6. Notes
  • To prevent redundant investment of national budget, technology demands that have already been supported as government R&D project research and development tasks are excluded.
  • The following cases will be excluded from being used as basic data:
    - If the demand survey form is not registered within the submission period and is submitted individually later.
    - If the demand survey form is submitted in a format other than the required one.
    - If the attached file (demand survey form) is omitted during the system registration.
  • The organization performing the project for the technology (item) identified through the demand survey as a support target will be selected through a separate public announcement, so the proposer of the technology demand may differ from the project-performing organization.
  • A single technology (item) identified through the demand survey may combine multiple technology demands or have additional research and development content added; therefore, not every technology demand survey will result in a separate supported technology (item).
  • Submitted documents will not be returned and will only be used as basic data for discovering new tasks for this project.
  • Overseas organization must use the demand survey form for 2025 Global Technology Demand Survey on Materials and Parts Research and Development Program(Eng). If the wrong form is used, the demand may be excluded from consideration.
7. Future Schedule
